Enjoy a weekend filled with free fun and entertainment for the kids! Starting at 10 am and lasting until 8 pm each day, the Freedom Weekend festivities will include free bounce houses, carnival games, contests, and much more! This entertainment is available for all ages throughout the entire weekend.
Don’t miss the chance to visit an array of delicious food trucks and local merchandise vendors, offering unique merchandise and handcrafted items. The vendors will be set up, all weekend long, along the courthouse square. Visitors can browse a diverse selection of culinary delights and one-of-a-kind crafts, while shopping in a vibrant small town community setting.

During Freedom Weekend, live music will fill the air, featuring talented local artists that will be sure to get you stomping your feet! Enjoy lively full-band performances under the beer garden tent on Market Street. Headliners include Sean Lamb, Janet Miller, and Mike Selke’s band Neon Heartache- a mix of acoustic and energetic tunes with soulful melodies- sure to keep the celebration lively!
On Friday and Saturday, July 3-4, clinch your thirst at the Liberty American Legion Post 122 sponsored beer garden, in the shade beneath a large tent facing Market Street. This popular gathering spot provides a relaxed environment for attendees to enjoy cold beverages, eat and play games like Bingo!
A highlight of the first day’s events is the annual Liberty Fire Department’s Waterball Contest, scheduled to begin at 6 pm in front of the courthouse steps on Union Street. Watch as local firefighters compete in this exciting and family-friendly competition, which has become a cherished tradition among the community.

Following the Waterball Contest, the Union County Cancer Association will host its charity Pie Auction Fundraiser under the American Legion Beer Tent. This community favorite supports vital cancer research and patient services, becoming one of Union County’s most helpful nonprofit organizations. At the auction, there will be a large selection of delicious homemade pies for bidding.
Saturday morning kicks off with the Liberty Freedom Run at 8 am, coinciding with the Union County Cancer Association’s Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser. Participants can enjoy a scenic race through the town while supporting a noble cause, and then indulge in a hearty breakfast to fuel the day’s festivities.
The historic Templeton Cabin and the downtown Liberty Railroad Depot will also be active that morning and through out the afternoon. Volunteers from the Union County Historical Society will conduct live demonstrations at the cabin, dressed in period costumes, offering insight into the region’s rich heritage.
At 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 4th, the Liberty 4th of July Town Parade will take place along Union Street! This beloved community event features patritoic floats, music, dancing, marching bands, and community groups, with free candy distributed to children along the route—an event enjoyed by all visitors, not just townspeople.

Our best giveaway on Saturday is for the younger crowd: The Liberty Dash For Cash immediately follows the parade at 1:30 pm. This cash giveaway is for children 13 years and under with parent or guardians consent. The dash for cash simulates an Easter Egg Hunt—coins ranging from 25 cents to $5.00 are hidden in designated areas of the courthouse square. Participants have three minutes to collect as many coins as possible, which can then be redeemed at the UCDC booth after the event.
Under the cool shade of the picturesque courthouse gazebo, on Saturday at 2 p.m. the festival will feature the delightfully popular Patriotic Baby Contest. Children from the community will compete in various fun categories, with cash prizes and trophies awarded to the winners.
The third day of Freedom weekend will Sunday, July 5; and, the agenda includes a special appearance by the Kicks 96 van, broadcasting live during the event with guest DJ Sean Lamb. Be sure to stop by and say hello to the radio crew while enjoying the festivities.

Another exciting activity on Sunday is the Courthouse Cash Grab—a new event offering participants a chance to walk away with substantial cash prizes, regardless of age. All festival attendees will be entered into a raffle for free entry, with additional tickets available through food and merchandise purchases from festival vendors.
